Tirol - Herz der Alpen

original. . . . . natural. . . . . cordial. . . . .hospitable

If you have already spent a holiday in the Tyrol, you must have passed by this impressive valley - we are talking here, of course, about the Gschnitztal. The Gschnitztal is a side valley of the Wipptal and its traditional charm and hospitality will entice you to stay time and time again.
The Gschnitztal was immortalized in 1969, in the movie "The Last Valley" by James Clavell and it still offers old Tyrolean landscapes, farming villages and terraced fields as portrayed in the film.
The valley, which rises abruptly upwards to the surrounding mountains, provides an ideal base for exploring this mountain scenery.
The mountains around the Gschnitztal are part of the Stubai Alps but are quieter than other parts of the Stubai. Many paths lead you up to high mountain huts where there is an abundance of alpine flowers. But you have more opportunities to discover the Gschnitztal, many more. Cycling, horse riding, swimming or simply enjoying the view - everybody will find something to suit them.
Winter in Gschnitztal offers ideal conditions for cross country skiing, the loipe running throughout the entire snow-covered valley. The downhill skiing on the steeper slopes is perhaps more suited to experienced skiers. But beginners can use the small lift in Trins or visit the nearby ski resort Bergeralm.
A walk through the village will provide a taste of the old farms, with their Baroque painted decorations. Crystal clear air, shady forests, family atmosphere - all this can be found in the unique Gschnitztal - the holiday area for the whole family. Leave stress behind and spend unforgettable days in the idyllic holiday village of Trins.
